I wanted to let you know that S4C will be calling at my house on Monday for a coffee and a chat with Gwen and I. They will be filming while we talk to them over coffee about our chosen charity and also about the making of the calendar.
The more coverage we have; the more calendars we sell! Which means ‘Ty Croeso’ can continue the great work of supporting families with poorly children at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

Well…the count down has started!!! With only 8 days to go until reality is kicked in for us calendar girls, and the fact that we’re going to be on show for all and sundry to see!! Oh…yes…we keep reminding ourselves that it’s all for such a worthy cause, but none the less the nerves still don’t go away!
The launch night should be a HUGE success for us girls and for all who will be there to share the unveiling with us. Family, Friends and business acuaintances will all be there, which means a few more nerves and jitters thrown in; just like a big red cherry on top of the ice cream!! Happy days! :o)

I’ve had a very interesting conversation this morning with a free-lance journalist who will be writing a story about our calendar for a national woman’s magazine and a national newspaper!!! Very exciting stuff!!!

With only 19 days to go until the big unveiling of the Calendar to the calendar girls and the public, we are running around sorting out the final arrangements with Chris the photographer and the Jeff printer over the next few days.
Linda Davies one of the calendar girls is busy making up table cloths for the tables for the launch night.
Gwen and I are busy working closely with The Oriel House hotel arranging the table plans and organising the presentation of the evening. We’re also busy picking up the auction lots and ordering flowers and baloons which will be on each table on the night and kindly donated by Liptrots of Prestatyn.
It is just twelve days since the Classy Cobs charity calendar web site officially launched and was opened up to the search engines.
And we are pleased to announce that today we have achieved twelfth position on Google.co.uk for the search term “2010 Naked Charity Calendar” – not bad for a little calendar from North Wales.
It is an achievement we are justifiably proud of. Normally, it can take months for a web site to get anywhere near the first page on Google. That is why so many owners succumb to the dreaded “Pay Per Click” to buy their way into the “Sponsored Listings” (Does anybody actually look at those?)
Worse still, they pay an SEO company on the promise of “Number one on Google Guaranteed!”. What they end up with is the Number One position for the search term “Joseph Llewelyn Bloggs Plumbing Services” as opposed to real world searches such as “Plumbers in Denbighshire”.
Search Engine Optimisation is not rocket science. It is simply a matter of getting the right key words in the right place on the web site. This very blog post is contributing valuable keywords such as Flintshire, Holywell and Clwyd. There I’ve said it! Including town and county names helps when people do localised searches.
YOU can help
The more people who see the web site, the more chance they will buy the calendar, so you can help to by adding links back to the site from your own Blog, Facebook page, or Twitter Feed. This also helps page ranking which takes incoming links into account when gauging the popularity of a site.
UPDATE: Just checked the stats. Yesterday we achieved our highest number of hits to date. 289 unique visits – and that doesn’t include our own admin visits. We can ony go from strength to strength!
